Dance and Pop Culture Course Description
This course focuses on different hip hop styles. The course follows hip hop through history from its creation in the Bronx with B-boys/b-girls, through locking, popping, and what it looks like today. All levels are welcome, but basic steps will likely be the focus. This is a semester long course that can count toward PE or Fine Arts credit. Students in this class will perform in the THS Dance Department concert at the end of the semester. Guest artists and experts in specific genres are occasionally brought in to teach classes in order to give students the most authentic experience possible in a high school setting.
